Class rotates across three areas:  Wordly Wise, Grammar, and Spelling.   In conjunction, writing and reading comprehension is done daily.

The next rotation is Grammar and we will cover Parts of Speech, specifically noun.

For Halloween, we read two scary stories and analyzed why these stories were scary.  They were both mysterious in that there were unexplained happenings.

Students were given time to complete the Phulan paragraph in class.

October 27, 2016

Students have been gathering evidence (citing) about Phulan who is a character in the book Shabanu. The students will build a model in class on how to write a paragraph on character analysis then the students will individually write one.

In class:  We are developing our skill for character analysis.  This week we will be identifying quotes in Shabanu for character development of Phulan and Shabanu.
